Principles of Jesus on Financial Blessings (#one)

There is a covenant of financial blessing between Jesus and everyone who dares to believe in him. However, the understanding of the difference between the person of Jesus and the Principles of Jesus is paramount in activating this.

I’ll examine the book of Haggai in this first series.

God spoke to the people of Judah through prophet Haggai in Haggai 1vs6“Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. Thus saith the LORD of hosts; consider your ways.” It’s obvious that these people were in big trouble! I mean picture a large farmland that is well cultivated and fertilized with one million maize seeds planted on it but upon harvesting all that was recouped was half of what was sown, isn’t that alarming? Well that was the situation. You should be curious by now to know why this was happening to them! Let’s dig the scripture further in Haggai 1vs2&4 this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies said “the people are saying, the time has not yet come to build the house of the LORD. Why are you living in luxurious houses while my house lies in ruins”? How many Christians are guilty of this offence? How often do you defile your body which is the temple of God while you go about giving in to your flesh? In this present dispensation of grace the house or temple of God means your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says that “what? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have of God, and you are not your own”? At this stage I want to implore you my friend if you are guilty of this it is time for you to consider your ways by building the house of the Lord which is your body. How do you do this?

God in His infinite mercy and love chose to deliver them from their suffering of financial stagnancy, unprofitable labor and insufficiency by giving them his instructions to follow. Verse8 “Go up to the mountain and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.” This is what Jesus expects from every believer as seen in Romans 12v1&2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” When a believer fails to do the will of God but rather, chose to be conformed to this world such a person is in error of what the people of Judah did which is to build themselves luxurious houses while they refuse to build the house of God. This is the same with a Christian who lives in the flesh and by so doing destroying the temple of God.

Having said all of these, I’m sure that you can identify the principle but if not, the principle is HOLINESS which is the will of God for man. How is holiness a covenant for financial blessings? How is doing the will of God a source for financial blessings? Here is how, “so the Governor, Priest and People of Judah all harkened to the voice of God and rebuilt His house” when they did this God sent His word to the people again through Haggai saying: Hag 2 verse 6 “For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; Verse 7. And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. Verse 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts. Verse 9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.” Quickly let jump to verse 18. “Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid, consider it; Verse 19. Is the seed yet in the barn? Yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.” Their obedience to God instructions produced divine blessings on them.

Obedience to the instructions of God produces divine blessings. His instruction to you today is to live a sanctified.

If you’re yet to surrender your life to Jesus, please do so today, his words says in Matthew 3vs2 “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of heaven is near.” If you will like to surrender you life to him simply say this words after me “Lord Jesus I believe that you are the son of God and that you died for my sins. Please forgive me of all my sins and wash me clean with your precious blood, I accept you today as my Lord and savior and henceforth I’ll live to do your will. Amen.

Thank you for reading this post, I hope that you are richly best.
